Dental Emergencies
Call for an emergency appointment with a dentist. This can usually be done by calling the dentist's office directly or by visiting the emergency room.
Try to control any bleeding by applying pressure to the area with a clean cloth or gauze.
If a tooth has been knocked out, try to gently place it back in the socket if possible. If you can't put the tooth back in the socket, put it in a container of milk or water.
If you are experiencing severe pain, take over-the-counter pain medication as directed.
Once you arrive at the dentist's office, they will first assess the situation and determine the most appropriate course of action. They may take X-rays, clean the area, and provide pain relief.
Treatment options will vary depending on the condition, but may include filling a cavity, performing a root canal, or extracting a tooth.
After treatment, your dentist will provide instructions for care at home to ensure proper healing.
