Oral Appliances
Consultation
The first step is to consult with a dentist or a sleep specialist to determine if an oral appliance is the appropriate treatment for your condition.
Examination
The dentist or sleep specialist will examine your mouth, jaws, and airway to assess your condition and determine the appropriate type of oral appliance for you.
Impression
The dentist or sleep specialist will take an impression (mold) of your teeth and jaws to create a custom-fit oral appliance.
Fabrication
The impression will be sent to a dental lab where the oral appliance will be fabricated, typically taking a couple of weeks.
Fitting
Once the oral appliance is ready, the dentist or sleep specialist will fit it in your mouth and make any necessary adjustments for comfort and effectiveness.
Follow-up
After the fitting, the dentist or sleep specialist will schedule follow-up appointments to check on the fit and effectiveness of the oral appliance.
