Orthodontics
Consultation
The first step is to consult with an orthodontist to determine if you are a good candidate for treatment. The orthodontist will examine your teeth and jaws, take X-rays, and discuss your treatment options with you.
Diagnosis and treatment planning
The orthodontist will use the information gathered during the consultation to diagnose any problems and develop a treatment plan.
Appliance placement
If braces are the chosen treatment, the orthodontist will place the brackets and wires on your teeth. Clear aligners or other clear orthodontic appliances will be fabricated with the help of 3D printing technology and will be placed in the mouth.
Periodic adjustment
The orthodontist will schedule regular appointments (typically every 4-8 weeks) to adjust the braces and monitor the progress of treatment.
Retention
Once the teeth have been moved into their proper positions, the orthodontist will remove the braces and may recommend the use of a retainer to help keep the teeth in their new positions.
Follow-up
After the treatment, the orthodontist will schedule follow-up appointments to ensure that the teeth are staying in their new positions and to address any concerns.
